Las Vegas climate and when to go Las Vegas

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

Climate

Las Vegas has four distinctive seasons. Summers are classic desert southwest, with high temperatures over 100 and lows in the 70's or 80's. Humidity is usually low. Most summers show an increase of humidity for part of the season.

Winters, for the most part, are mild. Afternoon temperatures average near 60 degrees and skies are mostly clear. Storms occasionally cause rainfall in Las Vegas, but the mountains in California, and due east of town, serve as barriers to most moisture. Snow is rare in Las Vegas, although flurries are observed once or twice during most winters. It rarely sticks. Freezing temperatures do occur though with some regularity.

When to go

Early spring and late autumn are the best times to visit as the days are quite warm and the nights very pleasant.
